Anyway, I had to let out some steam. Here's my latest project, this is actually a really good day to post this, I really like this dress and it reminds that I am capable of sewing. I kind of forgot today and it's nice to see a close up of my face and be reminded of that.
Yes! I made a cut out dress! I have joined the many lines of sewers who have cut out a hole in their garment and called it sewing.
I have chosen to a heart because it is romantic, elegant and shows a lot of cleavage. I am a true lady.
This was pretty fun to make. The fabric I used kind of felt like a bedsheet, which made it SO easy to use and handle. I love it when fabric does exactly what I say
I got my eyebrows plucked today. This did not help my I love sewing vibe today - it's hurts to look surprised and arch my eyebrow in contempt of other people's cut out dresses.
The back is kind of normal.
THAT IS NOT A FAT FOLD. It's not like I spent a week in Ireland eating fish and chips and ten pounds of bread every day.
The issue is that the heart tends to lose it's shape every time I move. In this dress I sit still and display my heart and order everyone around. And drink tea. And say the word Marvelous repeatedly.
I wore this on the train a few days ago and this beautiful stylish turban wearing Ethiopian girl told me that I look pretty. It was so random and sincere I almost cried.
Luckily a minute later this guy put a whole tomato in his mouth (not a cherry tomato. a whole tomato) and (I really don't know how he didn't see this coming) splattered everyone around him. I did not suffer the aftermath of this, but almost peed my pants from trying not to laugh.
This is the cleavage I was talking about. OH YEAH.
Yes I know I kind of overdid it with the pictures.
What do you think? Have you ever made a cut out garment? If not, are you thinking of attempting this style?
I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Cute dress. The curve of the neckline is very pretty. Your post makes me laugh. If I went to Ireland for a week I would definitely eat fish and chips EVERY SINGLE DAY.
ReplyDeletethank you so much for the nice comment! well then you should definitely go to Ireland because there is plenty of fish and chips there!
Delete(it's also quite a nice country regardless. GREEN)

ReplyDeleteHaha thank you!
Deletewell, I wish there were photos of you wearing the garments you made on your blog so that I could say if what you say it true or not.
Either way, I doubt it. Though I do love the way it came out if I do say so myself
